Tape Bonding
Simple Structure • Flexible Assembly • Cost-Effective Integration
Tape Bonding is a display assembly method that uses precision-cut double-sided adhesive tape to bond a Cover Glass or Touch Panel to an LCD module, typically around the perimeter of the active display area.
Unlike Optical Bonding, Tape Bonding maintains an air gap between the display and the front component, providing a simpler and more flexible assembly structure for applications where advanced optical performance is not the primary requirement.
RayShine provides customized Tape Bonding solutions based on display size, mechanical structure, adhesive requirements, and module design.
Key Features
Simple & Flexible Structure
Precision-cut adhesive tape can be customized according to the display dimensions, bezel design, and bonding area.
Wide Range of Integration Options
Tape Bonding can be used to integrate LCDs with Cover Glass, RTP, PCAP, and other front-panel structures.
Serviceable Module Design
Compared with full Optical Bonding, Tape Bonding may provide greater flexibility for module disassembly, replacement, or maintenance, depending on the product design.
Customized Tape Design
Tape thickness, width, shape, bonding area, and other parameters can be selected according to mechanical and assembly requirements.
Integration Options
RayShine Tape Bonding can be integrated with:
- LCD Displays
- RTP / PCAP Touch Panels
- Cover Glass
- EMI Shielding
- Heater Glass
- Customized display module structures
Tape Bonding vs. Optical Bonding
Tape Bonding is suitable when customers prioritize assembly flexibility, simpler construction, and cost efficiency.
Optical Bonding is recommended when the application requires improved optical performance, reduced internal reflection, and enhanced outdoor readability.
RayShine can evaluate the appropriate bonding method based on your LCD structure, optical requirements, operating environment, and project requirements.
